MDNIY and Habuild Join Hands to Launch Nationwide Digital Yoga Movement Ahead of International Day of Yoga 2026

The Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga and Habuild have launched a nationwide digital yoga movement ahead of International Day of Yoga 2026. The Yoga 365 initiative aims to encourage daily yoga practice through structured online sessions, attracting over 400,000 participants from more than 130 countries and every Indian state and Union Territory.

n a significant step towards promoting preventive healthcare and encouraging a culture of daily wellness, the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), under the Ministry of Ayush, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Habuild, India's first habit-building platform, to launch a nationwide digital yoga initiative in the lead-up to the International Day of Yoga 2026.

The agreement aims to inspire citizens across the country to adopt yoga as a simple and sustainable daily practice through structured and accessible online programmes. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to expanding the reach of yoga through digital platforms while strengthening awareness about preventive healthcare across India.

As part of the Yoga 365 initiative, Habuild and MDNIY launched a large-scale digital yoga movement in March 2026 with the objective of encouraging participants to practise yoga consistently every day for 100 days leading up to June 21, 2026. The initiative has already attracted more than 400,000 active participants from over 130 countries, including representation from every Indian state and Union Territory. Organisers expect participation to increase significantly in the weeks leading up to the International Day of Yoga.

The programme introduces participants to simple yoga practices that can be incorporated into daily routines. The guided sessions are led by Saurabh Bothra, Co-Founder and Yoga Instructor at Habuild. His approach focuses on habit formation, mindful movement and the development of sustainable wellness routines rather than short-term fitness objectives. The programme has been designed to ensure that individuals of all age groups and fitness levels can participate comfortably and gradually establish a consistent yoga practice.

Speaking on the initiative, Saurabh Bothra said that yoga becomes truly transformative when it evolves from an occasional activity into a daily discipline. He noted that while India has a deep cultural connection with yoga, modern lifestyles often make it difficult for people to remain consistent. He stated that the collaboration with MDNIY and the Ministry of Ayush aims to create a simple pathway for people to begin and sustain a long-term relationship with yoga. According to him, when millions of individuals dedicate even a few minutes each day to yoga, the impact extends beyond personal wellbeing and contributes to building a healthier society.

The initiative also seeks to build upon the growing global recognition of yoga achieved through the annual observance of the International Day of Yoga on June 21. While the event has introduced yoga to millions of people worldwide, the new digital campaign aims to deepen engagement within India by encouraging citizens to move beyond symbolic participation and embrace yoga as a regular part of everyday life.
